From our inception at Piedmont Preferred Women's Healthcare Associates has used electronic medical records system to document all patient visits.  You will notice that our entire medical staff-nurses and providers-carry wireless handheld computers throughout the office. With these computers, our staff has immediate access to all the important elements of your medical record-from office visits and lab results to phone calls and prescribed medications. We use the computers to document information from each of your visits, such as vital signs, past medical history, current diagnoses and care plans. We are confident this system enables us to provide you with better medical care and great customer service.

Using this advanced technology we can receive lab results as soon as they are completed. In the past receiving and filing lab results took days. Now your results are immediately available on your chart and are promptly reviewed by our providers. We have established electronic interfaces with Martinsville Memorial Hospital and LabCorp. Through these interfaces, we now receive urgent lab results, pap smears, genetic tests, radiology reports and a variety of other transcribed documents electronically. This hospital to medical group connectivity is unique in today's healthcare world, and is yet another way we are providing the best care for our patients.
